Having in the hotel environments that convey warmth and comfort is the big secret that makes potential guests choose a particular place among the numerous options offered. Remember that people want to feel special, live unique experiences, want to feel welcomed as if they were at home and not in a cold, without personality environment.

Here are some practical tips that interior designers and architects use, which photographers can take advantage of, as they help convey comfort to environments. Of course, it is not the photographer's intention to interfere with the decoration of the hotel, the tips should be used to take advantage of what already exists and possibly complement with something that gives a special touch to the environment:

1. Pillows: Simple solution, easy to put into practice and that brings immediate feeling of comfort. Leave them tidy so that they do not take up a lot of space in the furniture but serve to complement the decoration. They should be fluffed and placed casually so that they integrate well with the environment.

2. Rugs: They are also great options to enhance feeling of comfort. It is a perfect alternative to reinforce the feeling of peace, it should be clean, without folds, with combed fringes and without stains.

3. Plants and flowers: They add a touch of life to the environment and still provide thermal comfort. Small or large, the important thing is that they are well organized, without dried leaves or withered flowers and placed so as not to interfere too much with the photo.

4. Artificial lighting: One of the most important points that we should always take into consideration when we want to convey the idea of cosiness is the correct use of light. When photographing indoor or outdoor environments, the lights of chandeliers, spotlights, sconces, lampshades and the façade should be on as they are designed to enhance the space. Ideally, environments do not have many shadow spots in the corners, which can be resolved by using flashes or some other continuous light such as led illuminators. Check the possibility of using lighted candles, within the context of the hotel, they also convey tranquillity and peace, as well as giving a beautiful effect to the photos.

5. Natural lighting: Natural light, well-used, offers wonderful photographs as it gives the feeling that the surroundings are airy, warm and comfortable. It is a good alternative to work by leaving the curtains open, or by leaving only a lightweight cloth like voile covering the windows. Outdoor photos should be taken in the early hours of dawn or just before sunset to ensure that the light falls smoothly.

6. Use of decorative objects: Some objects help to give the impression of cosiness, show the human presence, even if it does not appear in the photos. Some small objects can be placed on coffee tables or shelves to bring the decoration to life. Books, glasses, handbags and handkerchiefs are some of the objects that, if placed at random, bring photographs to life and help narrative in defining the lifestyle of the space user. Trays with cups and teapot, chocolate box, a bottle of champagne or even some fruit in a basket, give the welcome information. However, be careful not to overdo it so that the environment is not visually polluted or tacky.
